rincchi: (Riki - Kinniku yay yay)

Everyone except Riki and Mio are literally me near the end of this. And at several other points during the whole thing.

I've. Finally. Done. It.

I have completed the proofreading of the script of the Mio game. Halle-frickin'-lujah! \O/ It's over! It's finally over! *sobs* I think I can almost hear a choir of angels singing... Truly a momentous occasion.

I'd like to reiterate that Mio talks too damn much.

Also, Riki thinks/narrates too damn much.

Anyway, it's all over now. Yatta~! \O/

Now here's the final part of the Mio game script. I think I'll post the whole thing together somewhere. Maybe Wordpress. I haven't touched that blog in forever, lol.

Already done the next part - the bad end.

Man, the bad end is just so ridiculous, I can't even. Riki trying to suggest that Kengo could have disguised himself as Kyousuke and fooled Riki... he's basically insulting his own intelligence. We're talking bombs in the food levels of dumbassery here (although I think the difference is that Battler wasn't really being serious with the bombs in the food theory...)

To be fair, it seems Riki does acknowledge how ridiculous the idea is when Mio points it out, he's just so desperate to solve the mystery he's throwing ludicrous theories out there...

Next up will be the true end... but that part is quite long, so it will be a while yet. Then I'll finally be done with this once and for all. '.'

Man, I've come so far already... only two parts left to go, hell yeah \O/

Came across more new lines that resulted from wrong choices for "Maasa". Geez, I wish I'd just gone through the choices without reloading when doing the script the first time around. >_>

This part was almost as excruciating to proofread as it was to write up. Sob. Did we really need such a detailed history of the carrier pigeon or such a long synopsis of The Little Mermaid, Kashida? Really?

Oh well, it's all out of the way now.

Here's Part 7.

Part 8's a bit longer so that will take a bit more time, I'm starting to get pretty burned out so I'll take a break for the rest of the day. Anyway, the sun's out for once so I ought to actually make the most of it.

Found a line I didn't get before. I don't think it was that I missed it. Haruka asks Riki if he likes the cafeteria, which probably had something to do with me picking the cafeteria when figuring out the "Maasa" message. I was reloading and picking different choices when doing the initial script so I guess I missed out on that line. This time I just picked them all without reloading.

Maybe that's what happened with the two missed lines from the previous update as well. Ah, yeah, Riki points out Kurugaya made a mistake before so yup. Skipping the incorrect choices for "Maasa" means missing out on some lines.

Anyway, Part 7 done. Just three more to go~ Yay~

Here's the sixth part. Part 7 is pretty short, so that shouldn't take too long.

I somehow managed to miss two consecutive lines here when doing the original script, whoops. No idea how the heck that happened.

Whee, already done with part 5~

And that's all for today, as I'm getting tired. Now I'll just relax and find other time wasting stuff to do, yay~

I should be finished with this pretty soon at this rate.

Here's Part 4. Part 5 is also short, so I'll aim to get that done today before taking a break. O7 Better not overdo it of course, I'll become sloppy if I get tired.

Another short part done. I'm on a roll! \O/

I like that I have the individual videos done and I know how long each part is as well as the entirety of the gsme, it doesn't look like such a daunting task anymore and I feel confident that I can actually finish this sometime this decade.

Caught myself mixing up the kanji for secrecy (密) and window (窓). Whoops. Got to be careful... pay attention to radicals...

I said some of the parts would be very short and I wasn't kidding. Part 2 already done.

I noticed something weird - there were instances where "ri" was in katakana when it should have been in hiragana. WTF. Not sure how the hell I even noticed... the hiragana version does have a tiny little notch which is barely noticeable in JWPCE but... idk. Maybe my powers of observation are amped up for the sake of proofreading. Anyway... I have no idea how that happened, but I noticed a katakana "ri" came after a kanji.

Which means KanjiTomo might be responsible. It does give me kanji modifying kana along with the kanji itself, so I copy it all and paste in... KanjiTomo, why the hell would you give me the katakana ri instead of hiragana? That's just dumb...

Anyway... here's the super short Part 2. In this part, Kyousuke reveals he's been called Rock Climber Natsume-kun. I'm sure he's been known for a lot of things by now... (though a lot of that stuff he's known for in his one question, one answer thing is definitely bullcrap...)

Finished proofreading the first part of the Mio game. I'm splitting it into parts between choices. Part 1 is all the stuff before the first choice, Part 2 is the stuff between the first and second choice, and so forth... yes, that means there will be some very small parts. But I prefer it this way, it's more organized. Think I'll post the revised script parts here for now. I've got ten videos, so that's ten parts... one done, nine to go~

The original script has so many mistakes in the first 20 minutes alone x_x Random kana where they shouldn't be, incorrect or missing kana or kanji, stuff like that... ugh. This would have been absolutely no good as a translation source. You could still get the gist of the story from it but, ugh, it really needed the proofreading. Anyway, first part is proofread and there shouldn't be any mistakes. I'll post each part as I'm done proofreading and editing them.

Haaah... I did it...

I have the entirety of the Mio BD game recorded and on my computer now.

Total size ended up being 7.45 GB so not as much as I thought it would be. Uploading it could be feasible... but I don't know where I'd put it anyway. I'm not really willing to risk putting it on Youtube. Anyway, it's all in Japanese, so only Japanese people or people who know the language would even be interested in the videos.

There are like, no videos of this on Youtube at all. o_o Or Nico Nico. I guess nobody cared enough to record and upload. Well, that is illegal after all...

My estimate of three hours was way off. >_> In the end, the total time is 1 hour and 14 minutes, including parts where I reloaded to get alternate dialogue. I had it on fastest auto speed the whole time. It probably just felt longer because of all the time spent recording, screen shotting and copying the script down.

So, yeah. All done.

Now all that remains is the proofreading of the script. Will I get it done this year? To be continued!

New year

rincchi: (Komari - Prayer)
So, first post of the new year, huh?

Well, there's something to look forward to. Probably. I'm sure the Little Busters Steam release will happen this year, right? At least I hope so. We haven't had any updates since the initial announcement yet.

This year, I really should try to be more productive. I haven't been writing all that much lately, been in a bit of a slump.

Also, I think I should try to get the revised script for the Mio game done. Haven't touched it in months, whoops. I might record the whole thing at some point but I don't have any way to do it other than holding up an iPhone. Screen recording doesn't work with it unfortunately. Maybe some people would be interested in seeing the recording, even if it's in Japanese...

Do I risk putting it on Youtube, though? o_o; Probably better not to.

It's 1 GB per 10 minutes anyway. I don't know exactly how long the game is... two hours-ish? That amounts to 12 GB... eh, not too bad. At the very least, I'd like to have the entire thing recorded and on my drive in easily accessible video files.

I wish there was some way to record the screen without having to hold up my iPhone >.>; Sometimes my hands shake. iPhone tripods are probably a thing but... eh. It's cheaper to just hold the damn thing.

Hmm, there's this software with a game recording option. Maybe I'll give that a try, but my hopes are not high...

EDIT: Nope, didn't work. What a shock. -_-
rincchi: (Haruka - Kinniku yay yay)

At long last, I have completed copying the script for the Mio BD game! I have succeeded in reaching the end! Kashida Leo, you may have done your best to break my spirit utterly and completely, but in the end, all your efforts were in vain for I HAVE TRIUMPHED! MUAHAHAHAHA! *lightning crashes*

... ahem, I got a bit carried away there.

Phew, it's over. I've just about had enough of it by now. Proofreading will come later. Much later. Maybe next decade.

The script didn't end up reaching 100kb after all, but it's still long at 83kb. The game's about 1-2 hours long on fastest auto speed. Phew.

I'm not planning to announce the script to the world just yet though, since it's still got to be proofread.

Oh cool, JWPce has this kanji count feature. 7235 kanji, 823 unique. *curls up and sobs* The pain, the pain...

Now then, today I think I'll finish reading the Air common route. Almost done~
rincchi: (Riki - geez)
Oh, for crying out loud. ><

I've been seeing this kanji pop up a lot in reference to a picture. I read it as 猫 (cat), which confused me because there are no cats in the picture. And then I checked for similar kanji just now, and look what I came up with...

描 (sketch) >_>

... Yeah, that makes a hell of a lot more sense. OTL

In my defense, I'm pretty sure KanjiTomo was the one to read it as the kanji for cat first and so I went with that. Thanks, KanjiTomo. >_>

I'll just replace all instances of the kanji for cat with the correct one because I'm pretty sure no cat was ever actually mentioned at any point.

There we go. There were less instances of it than I thought, and they all looked relevant to sketches. Whew.

I made other dumb mistakes too... spelling Kurugaya and Kengo's names wrong for example. >< Silly me.

So close to finishing the script. So close. ;~; ... But it won't be complete once I've written that last line, because I've got to proofread it. I am 100% sure there are still mistakes to be found.

There's one line I saw that was bothering me, and goodness knows what else...

Glad it's nearly over, I'm feeling really burned out. I think it will be quite a while before I ever feel like proofreading.

Maid Riki on the Key Oekaki tomorrow, yay~ Also, crossdressing Riki is on the poll as well. I know where my next votes are going. :3

... Yes, I'm very greedy. Gimme all the crossdressing Riki! O/

Going through the bad end right now, and boy, is Riki being ridiculous. XD

He tried to claim the culprit was someone else, Kyousuke had to remind him he's not allowed to lie in the first place therefore he has to be the culprit, and so Riki came up with the theory that the Kyousuke who brought him to the classroom was Kengo in disguise. WTF.

Mio just said there's no way Riki could mistake someone else for Kyousuke.

As much as I'd like to think so... this is the same person who didn't even realize Tokikaze Shun was Kyousuke in disguise. Sad to say, Riki probably could be fooled by Kengo in disguise, as absurd as it sounds.

To be fair, Riki did have good reason not to think Kyousuke was the leader of the Darkness Executives, but still...

EDIT: I just realized, Kengo has his injury in the story. Arm in a sling, his jacket... yeah. As far as Riki knows, his injury is very real, therefore to impersonate someone despite a broken arm...

Riki, you baka.
rincchi: (Kyousuke - childhood)
Somehow, we've gone from Martha, the last carrier pigeon, to The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen.

Sure, okay then.

This is all very intriguing indeed.

I still have no idea how Mio was killed in a locked room though. I can't wait to find out.

Oh, come on, Riki, you don't have to explain in detail the story of The Little Mermaid. -_- Sigh. I never did read the book though, I just know the mermaid suffers and dies. ... As if the extinction of the carrier pigeon wasn't a sad story already.

Enough of the sad stories, Mio. D=

Why am I having to write up the history of the carrier pigeon in Japanese.

What the hell does the history of the carrier pigeon have to do with how Mio was "killed" in a locked room.

This is ridiculous. It seems like Kashida just writes so much unnecessary stuff. He really could be a bit more concise.

Maybe it will become clear later on, and on the bright side, KanjiTomo is actually playing nice. Seems that it actually wants to recognise most of the kanji for a change. KanjiTomo seems to have issues with the background at times so it will have a hard time discerning the kanji.

I just want to get back to character dialogue already.

It will all be worth it in the end~

I'm doing this entirely because I want to. Doesn't mean it isn't a pain at times, but I will see it through to the bitter end. O/

... I can't help but feel an incredibly strong dislike of pigeons right now though.

EDIT: Wow, I didn't know carrier pigeons were extinct. o_o I guess this game taught me something new.

Also, I found the choice that leads to the bad end. I definitely got the normal end before. Bad end just takes you to the title screen. I'll find out what that's about soon enough, I've already got the screenshots for it. Working on Kyouriki prompts right now because I really need the break.

Man, I am so beat. Moving house is tiring. And I will be moving again in about a month too. Really looking forward to it because then I can start buying stuff. Heck yeah.

Body pillow, Rin nendoroid, Komari nendoroid, Beach Queens Rin, that's my current plan for stuff to buy. I'm not going to bother with anything fancy for displaying my figures. They will do just fine on a shelf.

Making good progress with Mio game. There are only a few scenes left to do. I'm steadily approaching the end. Yay~ When I am done, I shall celebrate with a bottle of champagne. Just kidding, but damn is it a pain when Kashida goes nuts with description. I never noticed if the Mio route was like that, but Riki's thoughts definitely had some prose going on. Almost to the point of being purple.

Bad end?

Feb. 3rd, 2015 05:36 pm
rincchi: (Kengo - WTF)
Huh? I think I read a blog post saying there was a bad end in the Mio murder mystery game? o_o

It says something about a rainy day. I don't think it was raining in the ending I got though, so I don't really know what that's about. Gosh, that means more work for me. Yay.

The choices have been pretty mundane, only changing like a few lines at a time. I was honestly wondering what the point was of so many trivial choices. If the choices you pick do matter, then... huh.

I'm going to finish the writeup before I mess around with endings. It will be easier once I have a clear understanding of everything that is going on.

Mio did look a bit unhappy in the ending I got, but I don't know what that was about. I did notice she said "lolicon" at one point? ... Yes, of course I'd notice something like that.

I'll look at that blog post in detail another time. Too tired to bother with anything other than Google Translate right now.

This is very important. If there's a good end, what's in it? ... I'd like to think another new CG, but if there was, wouldn't someone have posted it by now? Yeah, I doubt it. Would be hella sweet though. Not so sweet would be being only able to get a crappy camera shot of my computer monitor.

EDIT: Wait, I looked at that rainy day line in Translator Aggregator. Looks like it's just Google Translate making shit up. Yeah, nothing about a rainy day after all.

Worked on transcribing the Mio game some more this morning and oh, gosh, the pain... T_T

This is how much I wrote up this morning.

Words, words, words )

Kashida, why must you be so wordy. ;_;

Can we please get back to character dialogue soon? ... Not you, Mio.

Of course, the one I should be mad at this time is Riki. Nah, I kid, I kid, but, wow. So much description. ._. Good grief.

I think I'll take a break from this before I lose my mind.

I've been putting a backup of it into Pastebin on a regular basis. Pastebin has a limit of 500kb... I wonder if it will be enough. Probably, I'm only at about 30kb so far. Wouldn't be surprised if this ends up exceeding 100kb. >_>
