Tapestry arrived
Apr. 8th, 2015 04:38 pmHooray, the childhood friends tapestry finally came today! \O/ That was a bit nervewracking... I didn't know where or when I should ask Big in Japan to undervalue, so I was afraid of getting charged for customs.
And when it got to the UK, it was briefly held up for an address problem (A brand new house can be an issue apparently) then it spent like three days sitting in Customs. Scary. After that, the Track & Trace site showed it was sitting in a post office with a blank space for delivery date and I wasn't sure when it was actually going to come, until it surprised me by coming this morning. I'd pretty much resigned myself to it not coming today. Could have missed it, sheesh... the Parcelforce tracking hadn't even updated to say it was out for delivery. >_>
Well, it's here now and BiJ actually valued it at only 1,000 yen so I was safe. Whew. Amazingly enough, it was actually packaged sensibly, wrapped in a big roll of bubble wrap. I was honestly afraid Suruga-ya might have put it in a giant cardboard box. I didn't bother going with BiJ's repackaging option because I wasn't aware of Suruga-ya's tendency to use ridiculously huge boxes yet. >>; Despite being sensibly packed, it was still too big for SAL so I had to go with EMS. Since it's such a light item, it wasn't too bad.
I shudder to think of the gigantic box Cospa Rin will probably be coming in. o_o;;;
From now on, I'll always use a repacking service if I forward things from Suruga-ya.
Nendoroid Rin and the Kud & Kurugaya tapestry should come next.
All my scale figures were shipped surface mail so they'll take a bit longer. Just trying to avoid having everything come in all at once. I don't mind waiting.
Now I need to decide where on the wall my tapestry will go. Hmm.
I've put my LBCM Kyousuke tapestry on the wall opposite my bed, so whenever I'm lying in bed, I can just look right at him. Hehe... it really is a nice tapestry. I love it. *_*
Last night, I had a scary dream about my sister's children discovering my figures. *whimper* Beach Queens Rin in the clutches of a three year old... nooooo, that's scary. ;_; Anyway, they're in the top shelf of my cupboard in my bedroom so there's nothing to worry about.
I know the cupboard is a strange place to keep figures. People put them on shelves or in display cases usually, but I have no shelves nor do I have space for a display case. Honestly, there's barely room to swing a cat in this bedroom as it is. It's so tiny...
