Collecting

rincchiI don't understand figure collectors at all. I've been on MFC a few months now and... I still don't get it. It's been 3 days and I'm still reeling over the weight of a 1/8 scale figure in packaging. That shit's expensive, alright.
There are people who will blow thousands of dollars a year, maybe even a month, on figures of characters they barely even know and aren't all that attached to, some just because they look cool. It's insane. o_o
And this is why I will never be a figure collector. This isn't a road I ever want to go down. I'll be perfectly content with just Rin figures. I love Rin very much, so I'm fine spending money on her. She's totally worth it.
There was this one time I was on Eye on Asia, I was looking at Fate/Stay Night figures and going 'That looks pretty cool... so does that... oshit, get out now.' So I did. So maybe I do understand. If something looks nice enough to have on your shelf, why not buy it? But, the price. THE PRICE.
Figures are just too expensive. T_T And my country has shitty customs too.
I'm pretty tired of thinking about figures, honestly. It will be nice when all this is over... I'll move into my new house soon, get a body pillow for my Kyousuke dakimakura cover, get a Dorj pillow... still gotta get that Rin nendo too... 3,600 yen is the cheapest I can find her for, damn. Risk customs or use a proxy that undervalues? Hmm...
It's kind of stressful too, worrying about customs. Not such a fun hobby. I'm content to just get little things and enjoy Little Busters. Get the occasional artbook or whatever here and there, no stressing over expensive things... yeah.
